In 1370, the construction of the country's largest terminal in the west of Tehran (Azadi Square) was constructed. In the second half of 1996, with the presence of the then president, Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, a passenger terminal of Tehran with an area of ​​50 hectares was opened.

The West Passenger Terminal, which is still the country's largest passenger terminal, has been built in two floors, which are located on the ground floor of the ticket sales offices of commercial companies and service companies, and the upper floor is allocated to the terminal management office and the offices of travel companies. Has been.

The project included: main building of the terminal, the nearby road station, terminal mosque, bus and ride parking, water and gas stations, refinery and control room, landscaping and wall and bridge execution of the B1 B2.
